Seats

The total number of seats for the undergraduate programmes in IIST is 156. The branch-wise distribution of seats is as follows:

B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering:  59 seats
B.Tech. in Avionics:                          58 seats
B.Tech. in Physical Sciences:          39 seats

Admissions

Admissions to the undergraduate programmes in IIST are made through the IIST Admission Test (ISAT) conducted every year.

Brief Details of ISAT

ISAT is an All India Admission Test, open to all eligible students who have completed the prescribed qualifying examination under the (10+2) pattern from a recognized board or pre-university. Question Paper framed for ISAT is of objective type and consists of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The detailed syllabi for the subjects will be included in the ISAT Brochure to be made available in this website.

Reservation of Seats

Candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved based on relaxed criteria, as per applicable rules of the Government of India. Categories included are:
* Scheduled Castes (SC).
* Scheduled Tribes (ST).
* Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL).
* Physically Disabled (PD).

How to Apply for ISAT

Candidates can apply on-line in the prescribed ISAT Application Form that will be made available shortly in the web-site of IIST (http://www.iist.ac.in) only.  Necessary guidelines for registration of the application, payment of examination fee, eligibility, reservation, centres for examination etc. will also be provided in the website.
