13-year-old Satyam from a remote village in Bihar became the youngest aspirant to have cracked IIT entrance exam after securing an all India ranking of 679. Born to farmer parents, the youngest IITian despite endless hardships had first appeared for IIT-JEE exam at the age of 12 on a special permission granted by CBSE. Though, he was not convinced with his ranking then.
Growing up as a kid in a humble background did not deter Satyam from achieving what many can’t imagine at such a tender age. He is an IAS aspirant, also dreaming to serve NASA as an aeronautical engineer by the age of 20.
Satyam received a formal education at home till 8th standard due to lack of financial means and teaching facilities in his village. He was, however, granted permission by CBSE to appear in Rajasthan CBSE exam and Resonance Institute in Kota offered him free admission to appear in IIT exams.
Satyam is determined to appear for UPSC exams after completing B-Tech in computer science from IIT. Meanwhile, his proud parents are leaving no stone unturned to provide him the support he may need from them.
