The Central Board of Secondary Education has prescribed two NCERT Books for Class 11 English core courses. These are Hornbill Textbook and Snapshots Supplementary Reader. There will be three sections in the question paper. The first section is Reading Comprehension of 20 marks. The second section, Writing and Grammar is of 30 marks while the last section Literature is also of 30 marks. Rest 20 marks are assigned to internal assessments.
Section A Reading Comprehension: This section will consist of two unseen passages and an unseen poem. Out of this, you have to attempt either two passages or 1 passage and 1 poem.
Section B Writing and Grammar: There will be three writing questions in this first section. First would be a short writing task such as poster, notice, advertisement, or notice. The second would be a letter. The third writing task is a very long answer question like an article or speech. Then there will be 6 objective-type grammar questions.
Section C Literature: This section includes 5 questions based on the main reader and supplementary reader textbooks. There will be an internal choice in this section so it will be easier for you to attempt questions.
