Central Board of Secondary Education was set up to grant qualifying certificates to successful candidates of the affiliated schools. Its main aim is to provide quality education to its students and fulfill the educational requirements of those students whose parents were employed in transferable jobs.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts its class 12 examination in the month of March and the result is expected to be declared on 28 May 2017.

A total of 10,29,874 candidates had registered for the CBSE class 12 examination 2017 wherein 6,03,064 were boys and 4,26,810 were girls.
