16 Jammu students secured state ranks in the International Olympiad Awards, 2013-14

The 16 students residing in Jammu have secured state ranks in the International Olympiad Awards, 2013-14, and made the city proud. The Olympic was organized recently in the state of Delhi by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) along with the association of BBC Knowledge and The British Council. Those students who have got the state ranks include Alankrit Mahajan, a student of class 10 from K. C. International School in International Mathematics Olympiad, Aika Mahaja, a candidate of class 2 from Banyan International School in International English Olympiad category, Nalin Mujoo , Grade 9 from  Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 in National Science Olympiad, Shuvang Jandiyal, Grade 11 from  K.C. International School in National Science Olympiad and Samyak , class 4 from Heritage School in National Cyber Olympiad.

The judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Dipak Misra was invited as the chief guest in the award function, held at The Chinmaya Mission Auditorium, Delhi. Prof. YS Rajan, Mr. Richard Everett– Director Education, Chairman NIT Manipur, Mrs. Suprama Misra and British Council India were some of the honourable guest. While giving the speech, Justice Dipak Misra emphasized on the requirements of sincerity and humility in parents, teachers and students. He told the winners to always remain ambitious, but also analyze the inadequacies at the same time.

Around 24,000 students participating from 3,350 schools have been given the award for achieving the top state level ranks. Medals of Excellence” have also been awarded to around 4,60,000 students for achieving the top ranks in the respective schools. A participation certificate as well as a report on personalized performance analysis is also given to every student by their respective schools.
