7 Imphal Students Secured High Ranks in the Prestigious Olympiad Exams

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) have organized the International Award ceremony presently in order to felicitate the International winning teachers, students and principals of the Olympiad examinations for the year 2017. The BBC Knowledge and British Council have made association with the SOF for the Olympiads since the year of establishment.

7 students from the city of Imphal have garnered the State Ranks in Olympiad. They have made their parents proud by winning this prestigious Award in the Olympiad, conducted recently in the state of Delhi. The State rank 1 was secured by two students - Saikhom Amarjit Singh, a student of class 8 from Tiny Tots’ Unique School and Patel Lairenjam, 6th standard student from Little Flower School. They have won the National Science Olympiad and International Mathematics Olympiad awards respectively. The state Rank 2 in International English Olympiad has been bagged by a student of class 12- Asish Naorem from the Comet School. Ahanthem Vivek Singh of Grade 11 from Herbert School and Laishram Yangba of Grade 1 from The Antartic English School have also secured a good rank in the International Mathematics Olympiad.

The prestigious function was conducted at The Chinmaya Mission Auditorium by M r. Dipak Misra, Judge Supreme Court of India. He was invited as the Chief Guest for this function. Mrs. Suprama Misra, Chairman NIT Manipur - YS Rajan, Director of Education, British Council India -Mr. Richard Everett were invited as the guests of Honour. The guests as well as the winners sought the blessings of Swami Nikhilananda Saraswati, Acharaya Chinmaya Mission.

By the speech given by the Founder & Executive Director of SOF, it came into light that around 27000 schools from more than 1360 cities across the city of India as well as 16 countries have participated in Olympiad exams in this academic year.
