Established in the year 1999, The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad also known as IIIT-A is said to be a center of excellence in the field of IT and related sectors. It is termed as "Deemed University" by the Government of India. It is also said to be an institute of national importance and is located at a beautiful 100 acre campus, near Deoghat, Jhalwa - Allahabad. IIITA offers B.Tech programmes in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Information Technology. Along with the B.TECH-MTECH Dual Programs in IT and ECE MTECH Biomedical Engineering. Admissions into all these programs are done on the basis of the ranks scored in JEE-MAIN. IIITA foreign students are accepted based on SAT II scores. Three postgraduate programmes are offered by IIIT-A, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Technology (MBA-IT), Master of Technology in BIOMEDICAL, Engineering Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Information Technology, and an integrated M.Tech in Bio-Medical Engineering. Also the students can enroll for the research Doctoral Programme Ph.D after completing a B.Tech degree or an M.Tech.
