Operating under the guidance of Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF), the university currently includes one of the top engineering school located at Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway, Ahmadabad: Institute of Technology (1995), Institute of Management (1996), an Institute of Diploma Studies (1997), an institution of Pharmacy (2003), an rising Institute of Science (2004), a technology trade incubator - NirmaLabs (2004) and an institution of Law (2007). All these institution together have emerged as center of quality offering a range of programmes from scholar to doctoral levels in technology, engineering, business, pharmacy and sciences. To provide a quality of education, the Government of Gujarat established the “Nirma University of Science and Technology” under Act No. 10, which was passed in April 2003, by the Legislative Assembly of Gujarat to ensure the integration of all institute under the NERF into a single unit of Nirma University of Science and Technology.
Spread over an area of 110 acres of beautifully landscaped area, the campus is among one of the most arresting in India. Immense educational complexes with lush green environs all around provide the right ambience and atmosphere for intellectual stimulation. The world class infrastructure in form of auditoriums, seminar rooms, class rooms, computer laboratories, library, hostels, canteens, etc aid to the teaching-learning processes.
The hostel is available for only the PG students.

The students’ societies are the backbone around which the extra-curricular activities of the Institute revolve and they play a significant role in the life of the students. These clubs serve as an important appendage to course work also since it sponsors lectures by eminent engineers, debates, competitions, general knowledge quiz, essay competitions and various programmes and, in general, stimulate interest in the diverse spheres of a student’s life including games and sports. It also provides liberal opportunities for the students to hone their skills and abilities in fine arts by conducting music competitions, dramatics, etc. The Institute is also known to give equal importance to projects, industrial visits and training during vacations to support their curricular work. Special programmes are also conducted on humanities, communication skills, computers, foreign languages etc on a regular basis. Two additional courses on career orientation have been added in the curriculum, so that students are aware about their potential and thus plan their career accordingly.
