I have a doubt. HC Verma book gives a solved problem (no.11) of light waVES as:- the fringe width between the two first dark fringes on either side of central point as :y=2(lambda)D/d.
whereeas it should be y= (lambda)D/2d + (lambda)D/2d = (lambda)D/d.
I have a confusion between fringe width and distance between successive fringes . can you clarify.
i think soln in it is wrong as fr destructive interference bsinQ=(n + 1/2)lamda n he might have meant maximas thats y 2(lamda)D/b
